bulgogi pizza

I was subconsciously inspired to create this easy pizza by the kogi tacos. I remember when I first waited in line for over an hour in 30-something degree weather for one of these bad boys. It tasted like an explosion in my mouth. A marriage of Korean and Mexican flavors; sweet, salty, spicy, savory. A whole lotta flavors competing in my mouth. I like mine with a little less sauce than what they give but the flavors rock. One weekend, I happened to have these ingredients in the fridge and decided to create a bulgogi pizza.

canvas: flatbread from Trader Joe’s (one of my favs, so versatile)
sauce: tomato sauce
toppings: cheese, cilantro, cooked bulgogi (pre-marinated from the Korean market)
garnishes: cherry tomatoes, squeeze of lime, sriracha sauce, fresh cracked pepper

So easy and delicious!!!

Grab a baking sheet, cover with foil and toast your flatbread in the oven or toaster oven so it nicely browned. 450F for about 6 minutes.

Assemble your toppings and bake again for about 12-15 minutes or once the cheese is melted.

Take it out of the oven and resist the urge to eat it! Garnish your pizza with halved cherry tomatoes, chopped cilantro, a few squirts of lime, sriracha, and pepper. Enjoy the party in your mouth 🙂
